Box Score

CARLISLE, Pa. – For the second time in the last three matches, Gettysburg overcame a 2-1 deficit to pull out a 3-2 victory. On Tuesday night, the Bullets were pushed to the limit by Dickinson in Centennial Conference (CC) action at Kline Center. Gettysburg closed out its conference regular season slate and earned the second seed in next weekend's CC tournament.

Bullet (18-8, 9-1 CC) junior outside hitter Katie Heffner (Easton, Pa./Easton) put together her second double-double in the last three matches, knocking down a season-high 23 kills and adding 10 digs. She had just seven errors on 47 swings to hit .340 for the match. Junior right side Lauren Thul (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central) and freshman setter Amanda Krampf (Gaithersburg, Md./Gaithersburg) also posted double-doubles. Thul had 21 kills and 16 digs to go with five blocks, and Krampf had 45 assists and matched her career high with 28 digs to lead Gettysburg. Senior libero Steph Vial (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) also reached double digits with 24 digs, and senior middle hitter Hillary Prutzman (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) paced the team with six blocks.

The Red Devils (14-15, 6-3 CC) earned a 30-24 win in the first set, but Gettysburg tied the match after a hard-fought 31-29 win in game two. Dickinson again got the advantage with a 30-25 win in game three and had the Bullets on the ropes in the fourth game before the visitors overcame a big lead to force game five. In the decisive set, Dickinson could not stop Gettysburg's momentum.

The Bullets return to action on Saturday when they close out the regular season with a non-conference tri-meet at Messiah. They take on York (N.Y.) at 10 a.m. before facing the host Falcons at 12 p.m. Gettysburg will then have a week off before traveling to Franklin & Marshall for the Centennial Conference tournament on Nov. 4-5.
